How do I find a review or activities for a particular book?
This site makes careful use of tags to associate keywords and phrases with each book title we review. As a result, the search feature (to the right) is an easy and powerful way to find particular books, authors, illustrators, or themes you are looking for.
If you are not quite as certain about what you're after, take a look at the category list to the right. Careful selection there may point you in the right direction.
How can I help support this website?
Reading Is Good is a non-membership site, providing articles, links, reviews, activities, reproducibles, and lesson plans for parents and teachers free of charge. While the overhead of running a web site like this is fairly minimal, there are upkeep costs involved. If you are interested in helping support Reading Is Good, there's a simple way that not only keeps this site up and running, but benefits you and your children or students, as well.
On each book review page, you will find an image of that book's cover art and a link to a purchase page on Amazon.com, where the book can be purchased at significantly lower prices than most book stores sell them. If you follow that link from Reading Is Good to the Amazon site and purchase the book, Amazon will donate a portion of your purchase to our site.
We feel this is a great arrangement for everyone. If you read a review here and would like to put some of our activities to use, simply purchase the book from Amazon through our link. You'll then have everything you need to help build your child's early literacy skills, and you'll have helped ensure that we are able to continue posting reviews, activities and articles here for future use.
Thanks in advance for your support. We hope you find our site a friendly and useful place to visit.
